Parental Involvement

We believe that parental involvement is fundamental to student success. The school maintains an open-door policy and holds multiple academic and pastoral meetings throughout the year. Two Parents’ Days are held annually, but communication is ongoing. Parents are regularly updated on developments in the school, including structural and technological enhancements. Their support is invaluable, both in fundraising and in contributing to the vibrant life of the school. Proceeds from fundraising are invested in innovative resources and school maintenance, as a welcoming learning environment plays a vital role in students’ happiness and success.

To strengthen this collaboration, St Francis School has an active Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA plays a vital role in building a strong sense of community by encouraging partnerships between parents and staff. It supports the school through various initiatives, from organising events and fundraising activities to offering feedback and promoting school spirit. All parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved, share their ideas and contribute to the holistic development of our students.

Parents are also invited to express their opinions as part of the school’s annual internal review. Each year, they are asked to complete a questionnaire that includes both Likert scale questions and open-ended responses. This gives them the opportunity to voice their views on a range of aspects related to school life. We take this feedback seriously and strive to implement practical and meaningful suggestions. One notable example was the introduction of a more comfortable school uniform, which was directly inspired by parental input. This ongoing dialogue ensures that our school community continues to grow in a way that reflects the shared values and priorities of staff, students and families alike.

From time to time, we also organise activities that allow parents to participate directly in classroom experiences. These include craft sessions, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations, storytelling, and other themed activities where parents can share in their child’s learning journey. In addition, school talent shows are held once per term, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their talents while giving parents a chance to celebrate their children’s achievements in a joyful and inclusive setting. These shared moments help to strengthen the bond between home and school, creating lasting memories and reinforcing our community spirit.
