Digital Learning
Purposeful technology that enhances creativity, collaboration and safety.
Digital Learning
At St Francis School, we embrace digital learning as an essential part of modern education, integrating technology seamlessly into our curriculum to enhance teaching and learning experiences. All our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, providing dynamic and engaging lessons that capture students’ interest. Additionally, students in Years 4, 5, and 6 use two-in-one laptop devices, allowing them to explore digital tools, complete projects and collaborate effectively both in school and at home.
Our students benefit from a dedicated weekly one-hour lesson with our specialised IT teacher, where they not only develop their digital skills but also learn and practice coding, robotics and other emerging technologies. This hands-on approach helps foster creativity, problem-solving and computational thinking from an early age.
We also place strong emphasis on teaching students how to stay safe online. Digital citizenship and online safety form an integral part of our curriculum, equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world responsibly and securely. Our teachers receive ongoing training to ensure that technology integration is meaningful, safe and inclusive for all learners.
